15 delights from my faves folders
Haute air fresheners, Celestial Seasonings merch, design from Amsterdam, and more.
Welcome to today’s mish-mash of goodies from my secret files. We’ve got a lot of things to smell, try on, and hire a U-Haul for. But before we get started, if you’re a loyal Substack user/you are liking Schmatta, please consider putting me into your Substack recommendations? <3
Flamingo Estate is so annoyingly good. And now they are making this air freshener? I’m sold. Also on the home scent front, I want to mention Frederic Malle’s rubber incense in Saint des Saints, which I obsessively place around my house. And currently burning chez nous is this Boy Smells Grace Jones Candle, which is hella sexy.
If you live in L.A., have you been to Tac-Tile Mountain? It’s a super sweet gift-y type shop around the corner from us in Pasadena. Current obsessions in stock are this roll-on perfume which is def the kind of excuse-me-you-smell-so-good-what-is-that? fragrance.
We also stop by Tac-Tile Mountain regularly to refill on this kitchen countertop spray— natural and smells so pretty.
There hasn’t been a lot of vintage women's colleges goodies out there, but I’ve had this 1986 Smith charm bracelet bookmarked for a while.
Mo to the, E to the. Moesha promo jersey. A bit worn out. But someone could make this work.
Bower has done a collab with Seth Rogen: The Atlas mirror is “inspired by a few of Rogen's favorite things; bold, vibrant colors found in street art, and the airbrushed hyper-colors found in 80's pop culture.”
Also on the wall-decor front, new discovery making its way around the design notables: Anza, a textile art studio.
Making a return to the tenniscore aesthetic we last spoke of, someone should claim this 1990s Wimbledon tee.
I’ve had my eye on this one-off daybed by Block Shop because hello my ‘lil one, Eleanor, needs to dream here. It has been recently marked down to $5k. Still a bit too $$$ for my tastes but I’m shocked this hasn’t been snatched up by a designer.
I’m pretty much over the overhydrated-millennial-carrying-a-pastel-Yeti/Stanley/Hydroflask. Gimme this Celestial Seasonings travel mug I’m gonna fill with powdered Nestea and ice to tote to my school pickup; I’ll be wearing a hot pink “feminist” shirt that disparages my husband.
Anya Hindmarch’s leather charms. WANT WANT!!! Prob is, the look is best if you put like 2-3 together. IMO. And they ain’t cheap.
A vintage Esprit set that’ll be great for fall:
Recycled plastic tables from Amsterdam designer Dirk van der Kooij would be so fun, but my only question is: If someone forgets a trivet, are you screwed?
Ta ta for now!
